Poole Industrial Stool

Description

Industrialist Robert Poole?s machine works manufactured train components, and later, parts for WWI weapons. In 1888, 700 men worked there, making it in its time the largest employer of iron workers in Baltimore. Columns for the U.S. Capitol building were cast there?a proud contribution to one of America?s most iconic landmarks. The Poole Industrial Stool combines elements of steel and wood into a multi-purpose stool, occasional table, and workstation sidekick. The gears hint at the train components manufactured by Poole and Hunt Machine Works, while the wood shelf and foot pegs soften the hard edges.

Available in raw steel finish or powder coated in your color or choice. Wood can be stained in any complimentary color or left unfinished and coated in a simple and easy to maintain wax that will develop it?s own patina over time.
