Chesapeake City Bridge Table

$9,999.00

Description

The Chesapeake City Bridge was one of the original vertical lift bridges in the state of Maryland. Built in 1927, it linked the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware River until it was struck by an oil tanker and subsequently destroyed in 1942. This is a great statement piece where a client needs something to wow their friends or clients. The table can serve several purposes in a multi-use room. It can function as a conference table in the morning, serving area by lunch, and display station by evening, as it changes from 30″- 45″ in height. This table utilizes twin 10-ton screw jacks linked by a center wheel to raise and lower its height. Metal segments are bathed in a gorgeous glossy powder coat that accentuates the curves in the steel and modernizes the look. A vintage band saw wheel has been converted into the crank wheel that has a rotating handle attached to it. This industrial styled table interweaves wood and steel to balance the cooler metal with the warmer wood tones. A solid ash top has windows carved into it to showcase the mechanical linkages while utilizing a thick glass top to keep it fully functional. Power/Data ports can also be added to the top.
